Winter Restaurants

01/10/2012 11:01 AM

With this great weather (for January) continuing, we are planning on spending the upcoming 3 day weekend in Greenport, and explore the North Fork. A couple of the restaurants that we wanted to try are closed for the winter.  Which restaurants in the region are open that you would suggest we try ?

This is a great time to explore our beautiful region, take advantage of less traffic, and don't forget to include Shelter Island.  For fine dining, Sweet Tomato's, and the Vine Street Cafe are open, and for a casual spot, Pat & Steve's serve breakfast and lunch daily, and dinner Fri, Sat and Monday.  Enjoy !

Noah's tapas joint in Greenport is always a home run, and aMano in Mattituck, though it's a big of a drive from Greenport.

I meant bit of a drive, but if you are planning on exploring the North Fork then it's not bad at all, 20 minutes max.

So many to chose from...Digger's in Riverhead has great food and very reasonable prices.  I also love Parto's on main Street and was pleasantly surprised by Cody's.  I'm not a BBQ fan myself, but they have more than just BBQ and it was a big hit with my kids!

Touch of Venice in Cutchogue for dinner, Eriks in Southold for lunch, Jen's in Southold for breakfast.
